What is the difference between Z2 Auto™ and Z2™ CPAP?

The Z2 CPAP is a fixed pressure CPAP that always delivers the same pressure. A patient is prescribed a single pressure setting, such as 8 cmH2O, and that is the pressure the device delivers at all times.

The Z2 Auto, on the other hand, is programmed with a pressure range such as 4-20 cmH2O. The device starts at the lowest pressure and automatically increases the pressure when it detects apnea. After the apnea has been corrected, the device returns to the lower pressure.

The Z2 Auto can be programmed in Auto (APAP) and Fixed Pressure (CPAP) modes. Changing the mode can only be done by a healthcare provider.

I have a fixed pressure CPAP prescription. Can I buy a Z2 car?

In order for us to be able to send a Z2 Auto Set in APAP mode, we must have stored a prescription for an APAP/CPAP machine. If you have already been prescribed CPAP with a fixed pressure setting, all you need to do is have your doctor write a new prescription with the required pressure range settings needed to program the Z2 Auto in APAP mode. Your doctor needs to know that the full pressure range of the Z2 Auto is 4 to 20 cmH2O. So the minimum pressure is at least 4 and the maximum pressure is at most 20.
