New humidification
ResMed has revised its air humidification with the HumidAir design. The ResMed heated humidifier comes with every device and is smaller than previous models.
The new water chamber tub must be removed from the machine to fill it with water so that you don't accidentally try to fill the tub and then spill water on the machine's motor.
Two water chamber options
There are two water chamber options: a standard chamber that requires hand washing or a washable tub that is dishwasher safe. Both tubes hold 380 ml of water.
Important tips for s 10
How to tell if the water chamber is dishwasher safe?
All AirSense™ 10, AirStart™ 10, and AirCurve™ 10 devices identify the humidifier's water chamber model with an “S” or “C” label printed on the chamber itself. Look just above the maximum.
Check the capacity on the side of the chamber to find the word HumidAir™ and the corresponding letter stamped into the tank.
If the replacement water chamber is dishwasher safe, the chamber will appear as HumidAir C, which represents a cleanable tank.
If the replacement water chamber is the standard model, the chamber will appear as HumidAir S, which represents a standard tank.
Cleaning the Standard AirSense 10 water chamber
The standard water tub should be washed weekly with warm water and a mild detergent, rinsed well and dried out of direct sunlight.
The standard water chamber is not dishwasher safe and should only be washed by hand, but a dishwasher safe chamber is also available.
Tips for maximum filling level S10 Humidifier water chamber
- Do not fill the water tank beyond the maximum fill line. Overfilling the humidifier pan can cause damage as excess water will leak from the tank inlet.
- When removing the hose from the tank outlet, ensure that there is no water in the hose. Water could get into the machine through the hose and damage it.
- Only use distilled water at room temperature in the water chamber. Do not add chemicals or additives (such as essential oils) to the water. Additives may irritate your mouth or throat and may be harmful. Tap water can leave behind hard deposits that create more work for your CPAP machine and affect the quality of your CPAP therapy air and its pressure.
- Remove the tank, empty all water and replace the empty tank before using the
- Transport humidifier base. Leaking water from your humidifier chamber can cause damage to your device.
- Do not attempt to fill the water tank while it is in the humidifier.
- Do not turn on the humidifier without the water tank installed. The humidifier number setting must remain at 0 when there is no water in the water tank.
